How it's cooked (4 steps)
- Fry a very large amount of onion in lard until golden, remove from heat, and stir in copious amounts of sweet paprika.
- Return to heat and add beef pieces, caraway, garlic, and salt, then cook briefly before covering with water or broth.
- Simmer for 1.5 hours, then add potatoes, carrots, peppers, and tomatoes and cook until everything is tender.
